Adv Isiah Mureriwa is a seasoned legal practitioner with over 16 years of experience in the legal industry. With a Master of Laws from the University of Pretoria and the right of appearance in superior courts in both South Africa and Zimbabwe, he has built a distinguished career in litigation, legal advisory, and public interest advocacy.

Throughout his career, Adv Mureriwa has remained committed to justice and integrity. He is the founder of the Advocacy Centre for Private Prosecutions in South Africa and was the first to successfully argue for the right to private prosecution in Zimbabwe in the landmark case of Telecel Zimbabwe (Private) Limited v Attorney-General of Zimbabwe N.O.

A former Partner at Scanlen & Holderness, he handled high-profile cases and received the Women Human Rights Defender of the Year Award for his contributions to women’s and children’s rights, notably in the landmark case Mildred Mapingure v. Minister of Home Affairs and 2 Others (2014), which advanced reproductive rights for women. His Master’s thesis, Paedophilia and the South African criminal justice system: a psychological perspective, published in the South African Law Journal of Criminal Justice, 2004, Vol 17, is widely referenced in academic research.

Specializing in litigation in areas of law such as Labour law, Family law, Criminal, and Commercial litigation, Adv Mureriwa is known for his ability to handle complex legal matters with precision and purpose. He has successfully secured several key judgments, including landmark decisions in private international family law, such as Mukoyi v Charova N.O and Others, among others.
